In 1976 his contract was finished with London then came Starbuck's - "Moonlight Feels Right" written by Bruce Blackmon. A number three hit in the nation. It stayed on the charts in the top ten for eight weeks. Bob worked with Starbuck till late 1977. Then stopped touring and came home to DeRidder to spend more time with his family.
In 1980 Bruce Blackmon of Starbuck called and asked Bob if he would be interested in doing an album with Him and Studio Musicians from around Atlanta for United Artist Records. Bob was very interested and accepted. The album was called Korona and had one song (Let Me Be)that charted in the 40's. After Korona Bob went into Sound Production. Bob received many offers to front world famous bands that had lost or were having trouble with their lead singer but declined all of them he said it wouldn't be the real thing.
How did Fort Polk Fighting Machine come about? Bob said I was driving thru Leesville early August of 2004 and noticed more and more uniformed Military. I started thinking about them and their families especially the children and all the stresses and heart breaking departures that they would be facing. I went into the studio that night and worked till 7:30 AM the next morning. The song was born. I love it and I'm my worst critic. Every time I perform this song I put all my heart and soul in to it and I'm proud just to be able to sing praise to the Fort Polk Fighting Machine
